What is the ADHD assessment process for NHS Patients?

Edited

If you are accessing our services through the NHS:

  1. GP referral: Speak to your GP about your concerns. If your GP agrees that an ADHD assessment is appropriate, they can refer you to us through the NHS Right to Choose as long as you are 18+ and in England.

You can download some helpful forms to share with your GP via our website.

  1. Referral confirmation: Once we receive your GP referral, our team will contact you to confirm the next steps, which includes you signing up to our patient portal so you can complete the pre-assessment questionnaires.

  2. Pre-assessment questionnaires: Once you've signed up via our portal, you'll receive a welcome email with some pre-assessment questionnaires to complete ahead of your assessment. You'll also be asked to upload some photo ID.

  3. Assessment booking: Once you've completed these steps, we'll give you a call and will agree a date and time for your assessment appointment. For more detailed and up to date information on our waiting times at each stage, please see our Waiting times article.

Assessments take place online via a video consultation. Please take a look at this article for more information on what to expect during your assessment, and to watch a video of a full assessment taking place.
