ICB Referral Guidance
Our standard NHS / Right to Choose (RTC) policy (Referral Guidance) applies to all Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) across England, unless we have a specific contract in place that allows for a different referral pathway.
🔒 Important:
NHS England rules do not allow us to accept medication-only referrals unless we have a specific ICB agreement in place.
This is not a policy set by Care ADHD, but a requirement under national NHS England guidance, which all NHS providers must follow.
Where no ICB agreement exists, we can only accept referrals for the full ADHD care pathway (assessment and treatment), not for medication alone.
To check if a different arrangement applies to you, we’ll need to know which ICB your GP is part of. To help us confirm this, please send us:
Your full name and address
The name, address, and website of your GP practice
Current Exception: Norfolk and Waveney ICB
We currently have a specific agreement in place with Norfolk and Waveney ICB.
If you are registered with a GP in this area, we are allowed to accept medication-only referrals - including where your ADHD diagnosis was made privately or via another NHS/RTC provider.
🔓 This is only possible because of a direct contract with the Norfolk and Waveney ICB.
Outside of this area, we are not permitted to accept split referrals under NHS rules.
