What qualifications do your assessors have?

Edited

As per NICE guidance, ADHD assessment and diagnosis should be carried out by an appropriately trained healthcare professional. At CARE ADHD, all assessments are undertaken by experienced mental health practitioners who have completed a comprehensive ADHD training programme.

All our clinical reports are counter-signed by our Medical Director, who does so in their capacity to confirm the rigorous vetting process required to work at CARE ADHD. This includes completion of our Education and Training (E&T) programme and competency-based assessments sign off which are required before clinicians are approved to carry out assessments independently.

Our clinicians are also supported by daily multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and have access to senior escalation and clinical advice when needed.

We use a structured, evidence-based assessment process that is subject to monthly clinical audit. Our approach is fully aligned with NICE guidelines and meets 100% of the AQAS (ADHD Quality Assurance Standards) criteria.

Our assessors need:

  • a relevant professional qualification e.g.: Psychology, Psychiatry, Nursing

  • professional registration with a governing body

  • mental health experience

  • to complete our training on ADHD diagnosis and medication

  • mandatory industry training

  • enhanced DBS

Our NMPS (non medical prescribers) need:

  • a relevant professional qualification e.g.: Pharmacy and NMP qualification

  • professional registration with a governing body

  • mental health experience

  • to complete our training on ADHD diagnosis and medication

  • mandatory industry training

  • enhanced DBS
