What is shared care?
Shared care refers to a collaborative approach to managing ADHD treatment between a specialist service (such as CARE ADHD) and a patient’s GP. This arrangement ensures continuity of care while making ADHD treatment accessible and manageable for patients closer to home.
What happens after titration?
Once your medication is stabilised (typically after 8 weeks or more), we can send a shared care agreement to your GP, if you choose. This allows your GP to take over prescribing and ongoing management of your medication.
If Shared Care is agreed, you’ll pay the NHS rate for your medication, which will be prescribed by your GP (currently £9.90/item, or free for those who are eligible). As part of the Shared Care agreement, you’ll have an annual review with us each year, which is currently priced at £140 for private clients, or free for NHS Patients on the Right to Choose pathway.
