What if I need to reschedule or add a medication appointment?

Edited

We understand that life can sometimes be unpredictable, and you may need to adjust your scheduled titration appointments. Here’s how we handle these situations to ensure you continue receiving the support you need during your treatment journey.

Skipping or pushing back a scheduled appointment

If you cannot attend a scheduled appointment:

  • 📆 Rescheduling: Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to reschedule your appointment. We strongly recommend bringing medication appointments forward rather than delaying them, as postponing appointments could result in your next batch of medication not arriving before your current supply runs out.

If you reschedule an appointment with at least 2 working days’ notice, no charges will apply. However, if less than 2 working days’ notice is provided, a fee of £140 will be charged to book a replacement appointment.

  • ⏰ Impact on Titration Timeline: Delaying appointments may extend the 12-week titration pathway, as progress depends on regular reviews to make any adjustments and issue your next prescription.

  • 🏃‍➡️ Missed Appointments: Demand for ADHD services in the UK is incredibly high. Regardless of whether you pay privately for the service or your treatment is funded by the NHS, we encourage you to do everything you can to let us know ahead of time if you are no longer able to make an appointment. With advanced warning, we have the opportunity to offer the appointment slot to someone else on the waiting list, which speeds up their access to treatment.

Missed appointments cost the NHS £1.2 billion annually, and ADHD services are particularly impacted, with over 250,000 people waiting 5–10+ years for treatment. We appreciate your support as we strive to reduce these waiting lists and ensure that as many people as possible can access the vital care and appointment time they need.

Booking an extra medication appointment

If you feel you need additional support beyond your scheduled appointments, you can book an extra review. This is available to both NHS-funded and private clients at a cost of £140 per session. Additional reviews are particularly useful if:

  • You’re experiencing unexpected side effects and would like to discuss these before your next appointment.

  • You need further adjustments to your medication.

  • You want personalised guidance before your next scheduled review.

To book an additional medication review, please make payment via this link and we’ll be in touch to arrange the appointment.

Completing the titration pathway

By the end of the 12-week pathway, most people are stable on their medication and ready to transition to long-term care. If your medication is not stabilised after 12 weeks, you have the option to continue with additional medication reviews to ensure your treatment is optimised before discharge. To arrange further reviews with us, please make payment via this link and we’ll be in touch to get you booked in.

Important reminders

  • ⏳ Timely Communication: If you need to change or cancel an appointment, please notify us as soon as possible. This minimises any disruption to your care, helps avoid additional charges, and allows us to offer available appointment slots to others in need.

  • 🚨 Emergency Support: Our service does not include emergency support. If you feel unwell due to your medication or need urgent medical assistance, stop taking the medication and seek help from your GP or nearest hospital immediately.
