I've missed my assessment appointment
We understand that circumstances beyond your control can sometimes lead to missed appointments. However, each appointment involves preparation by our clinical and administrative teams, and a senior clinician will have allocated time to attend. Additionally, there are many individuals across the UK waiting for assessments and treatments, and every missed appointment is an opportunity that could have been offered to someone else.
Please see the important information below, which outlines the process for missed assessments based on whether you are an NHS patient, or private client.
NHS Patients (Right to Choose)
Missed appointments not only result in lost opportunities for others awaiting assessments but may also delay your own assessment by 6–12 months, as you would need to rejoin the waiting list.
Missed appointments cost the NHS £1.2 billion annually, with ADHD services particularly affected—over 250,000 people are currently waiting 5–10+ years for treatment.
If you don’t let us know in advance that you are unable to make your assessment, you’ll rejoin the back of the waiting list and our bookings team will reach out when we’re able to reschedule you once again.
If you know ahead of time that you will be unable to attend your assessment, please contact us via our NHS Patients contact form, and we’ll do our best to find you another suitable appointment slot.
Private Clients
Missed appointments that are not rescheduled with at least 2 working days notice incur a rebooking fee of £150. This fee is significantly lower than the cost of the missed appointment itself, and ensures that we can continue to keep our overall pricing as accessible as possible. Even with this fee, we are confident that CARE ADHD remains one of the most cost-effective options available for ADHD assessments and treatments.
If you are a private client and you need to reschedule a missed appointment, please make payment via this link. Once payment is received, we’ll be in touch to schedule a new appointment for you.
Our policy regarding missed appointments is also outlined in our Terms and Conditions.
Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to supporting you.
